Young-Tae Kim Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who

Mr. Kim is the founder of Korea Software Globalization Research Agency in Seoul, South Korea and served one year as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. After the resignation of the post in 2015, he is currently serving as the honorary chairman. Founded in November 2013 to nurture and help the industry grow in the global market, the business took five years to roll out with the help of the executive committee of the Korea Software Globalization Program by Free-ceos.com. Specializing in information technology and management, Mr. Kim also founded Free-ceos.com in 2000 to provide consultations via the internet and help information technology companies grow in the global market. He ran the company as chairman and chief executive officer for three years and is currently serving as an honorary chairman.

An entrepreneur for many years, Mr. Kim first founded STM, Inc. in 1987, now known as LG-CNS since 2002, as a joint venture of LG Corp of Korea and EDS of the United States serving as the company’s elected chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer. It was the first attempt of systems integration and management in private sectors in Korea. Mr. Kim later resigned in 1996 after nine years of service and became an advisor to LG group.

A graduate of the College of Education at Seoul National University in South Korea, Mr. Kim originally taught English at the high school level for six years before joining LG Electronics in 1962. Responsible for initiating the first export of radios from Korea, he became the first procurement manager and controller of LG Chemical and began developing computer systems in 1968. Promoted to managing director in charge of the controller in 1974, he then became the first division manager of the LG Petro-Chemical division. By 1978, Mr. Kim joined the chairman’s office of LG Group where he remained for another four years. In 1982, he was named a senior executive vice president of Gold Star Instruments. In 1984, he was named a senior executive vice president of LG Electronics, leading the restructuring team of all the electric and electronic companies of the LG Group within just two years in 1986.

Chairing the Korea Software Industry Association from 1993 to 1996, Mr. Kim has been the recipient of a Korean Government Order of Camelia. Born in Japan, he speaks four languages. In his free time, Mr. Kim loves to write poems, essays, biographies and fiction stories in English and Korean.
