Accruing more than three decades of professional experience, Dr. Sung Eui Cho is a pre-eminent business and economics educator whose vast wealth of knowledge has been instilled into future generations for years. Serving as a professor at Gyeongsang National University since 2004, he simultaneously held the role of director of the Business and Economics Research Institute in affiliation with the university from 2013 to 2015. During this time, he also acted as a visiting professor at the International Summer School, Renmin University of China from 2014 to 2017, a visiting scholar at the Indian Institute of Science in 2014, and a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge from 2008 to 2009. The former manager for the Korean Air Company for 11 years, Dr. Cho served in the Korean Army as a military officer and lieutenant in the mid-1980s.
Dr. Cho’s main research fields include business model management, entrepreneurship, science park development, information and service industry management, and electronic commerce. He published his research papers in the Journal of Service Management, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Journal of Information & Knowledge Management, International Journal of Knowledge Management Studies, Journal of Korean Entrepreneurship, and others.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Sung Eui Cho pursued formal education at Seoul National University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in geography in 1986. Soon thereafter, he received a Master of Business Administration in business administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration at Yonsei University in 1996. Dr. Cho concluded his education in 2003, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in business administration from Korea University.
As a testament to his professional success, Dr. Sung Eui Cho has accrued several accolades in recognition of his exceptional undertakings in education. He received the Honorable Teacher Award from the Renmin University of China in 2017, having previously accepted the Best Paper Award from the Korean Entrepreneurship Society in 2012. Notably, Dr. Cho has been selected for inclusion in the 27th and 31st editions of Who’s Who in the World.
