In 2002, Dr. Sang Ik Jo earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Sahmyook University in Seoul. He later concluded his studies with a Doctor of Medicine from Pusan National University in 2012. After completing an internship at the Seoul Asan Medical Center in 2013 and a residency in family medicine at the Seoul Samsung Medical Center in 2016, he furthered his training through externships in association with the Florida Hospital and Harvard University in 2016. Dr. Jo later pursued a fellowship in family medicine and international health service with the Seoul Samsung Medical Center in 2018.
Currently a clinical professor in the family medicine department at Chosun University Hospital and an adjunct professor at the Seoul Samsung Medical Center, Dr. Jo is the author of “Clinical Guideline for Primary Care,” published in 2018. He has also served as a speaker and lecturer in his field and penned several lifestyle articles for newspapers. Due to his contributions to his field, Dr. Jo was the recipient of the grand prize of excellent presentation regarding Lifestyle Magazine, as presented by the Korean Academy of Family Medicine in 2016. Dr. Jo was also honored with Samsung Medical Center’s Excellent Residency Award in the same year.
Dr. Jo has been appointed as a keynote speaker several times throughout his career’s duration, including at Eulji University’s Lifestyle Medicine Conference, the University of Pittsburgh’s Middle East Health Camp and The Inaugural Korean Conference on Lifestyle Medicine & Wellness, among other conferences and meetings. He also excelled as a guest speaker at the Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine Conference and the Workers’ Compensation Symposium in South Korea in 2018. Continually growing in his profession, he has worked as the director of the Lifestyle Medicine Seminar for Youth, the Korean University Students’ Lifestyle Coaching Program and the Korea Lifestyle Medicine Conference. A member of the Korean Academy of Family Medicine, Dr. Jo established the Be-live Lifestyle Medicine Center for Research and Education in 2016 and ShinShin PLUS clinic in 2019 in South Korea, encouraging healthy lifestyle modification for people.
