With more than 25 years of professional experience to his credit, Dr. Young Kyun Kim has excelled as a professor of business with Incheon National University since 2006. Prior to obtaining his current role, he worked as a professor of management with Kyunghee University from 2002 to 2006, the vice president of Korea BSC Consulting Company, Ltd, from 2001 to 2005, and the chief executive officer of Zushin Company, Ltd, from 1996 to 2001. He previously found success as a contracting officer for the United States Army Contracting Command from 1994 to 1996 and as an assistant manager with Kumho Asiana Group from 1991 to 1994. Dr. Kim began his career with Johnson and Johnson Co., Ltd, in 1991.
Dr. Young Kyun Kim initially pursued an education at Indiana State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in management in 1989. He continued his studies with the aforementioned school, earning a Master of Business Management in 1991. Dr. Kim concluded his academic efforts at Inha University, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in marketing in 2002.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Dr. Kim has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He serves on the editorial committee board for the Journal of the Korea Industrial Information Systems Research, and on the board of Korea Information Systems and Management and Economics. A lead investigator in the World IT Project, Dr. Kim was active as a reviewer for Information Systems Journal, Long Range Planning, R&D Management, the International Journal of Information Management, and the Journal of Marketing Management.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kim has been celebrated for his contributions to the field. He has been presented with a number of honors and accolades for his achievements and accomplishments. The recipient of the Presidential Citation of Korea, Dr. Kim has twice accepted the Best Teaching Award from Incheon National University.
