Backed by many years of professional expertise, Dr. Sangkuk Kang serves as the president of Siwon Chuckchuck Rehabilitation Clinic. Previously, he gained valuable expertise as the director of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation and the head of the Patient Referral Center at Sun General Hospital. He further flourished as the director of a similar department at Korean Worker’s Hospital. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Kang worked as a clinical fellow at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Chungnam National University.
An expert in his field, Dr. Sangkuk Kang earned a Doctor of Medicine from Chungnam National University in 2001. Subsequently, he continued his studies at the aforementioned university with a Master of Science in 2004 before graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in physical medicine and rehabilitation in 2011. Upon graduating, he became licensed in electrodiagnostic medicine and certified through the Korean Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also researched physical medicine as a visiting scholar in University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014. Dr. Kang currently retains his professional alignment with the Korean Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Korea Association of EMG Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the Korean Spine Intervention Society, the Korean Association of Clinical Pain Medicine and the Korean Society of Geriatric Medicine.
With considerable knowledge at his disposal, Dr. Kang co-authored several published articles, including “Efficacy of Epidural Neuroplasty Versus Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection for the Radiating Pain Caused by a Herniated Lumbar Disc”, “Effectiveness of Initial Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy on the Newly Diagnosed Lateral or Medial Epicondylitis” and “Effects of Repetitive Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation Over Vastus Lateralis in Patients After Hip Replacement Surgery” In recognition of his professional achievements, he was presented with the Distinguished Service Award in the Field of National Disability Grade in 2017.
