Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Cho has striven to assist in the promotion and acceleration of new drug research for patients suffering from chronic diseases. He received a master’s degree from Dongguk University Business School, after which he earned extensive certification through the Korea Technology Transfer Agent Association and by the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. Presently, Mr. Cho holds several research and executive positions in the pharmaceutical field.
For 29 years, Mr. Cho has served as an officer and managing director for the Korea Drug Research Association, registered to the Korean Ministry of Science & ICT. He also works with such national organizations as the Korea Association of Healthcare Management Strategy Professionals. Most notably, in 2000, Mr. Cho established the InterBiz Bio-Partnering & Investment Forum, which is now the largest technology transfer, licensing and cooperation mechanism annually held between industry, academia and research organizations in the Korean pharmacology and biotech industry.
Mr. Cho’s company has successfully transferred or licensed approximately 60 promising technologies in the industry, which has resulted in $120 million in revenue based on voluntary deal reports from participants. As an accomplished professional, he has received many accolades throughout his career, and was presented with several Ministerial Commendations for Merit of Industry-Academy Cooperation and Industrial Technology Innovation from the Korean Vice Prime Minister and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. Mr. Cho also received a Presidential Commendation for Merit of Successful Holding of BIO KOREA from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
Over the years, Mr. Cho has drawn inspiration from the example of Jack Welch, the former chairman of General Electric, who offered him valuable advice about marketplace rates in the industry. In the coming years, he plans to travel in order to find innovative partners and promising bio-startups who are seeking to collaborate.
