SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, December 18, 2018, Dr. Jiyeol Im has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. At one of the premier technological universities in the South Korea, Dr. Jiyeol Im conducts research while lecturing on water and wastewater systems. He has taught at Seoul National University of Science and Technology since 2012, after he earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering there in 2011. Dr. Im recently earned a PhD from the Korea University Graduate School in Seoul, with the school of civil, environmental, and architectural engineering. He is a promising young engineer in a country consistently experiencing technological advancements.
Born in December of 1983 to Youngken Im and Myoungsook Kim, Dr. Jiyeol Im served his requisite tour of military duty in South Korea from 2004 to 2006 as an auxiliary policeman. He attended Seoul National University of Science and Technology to earn a BS in Civil Engineering, and went on to complete a Master’s degree. Like many doctoral candidates, he taught as a lecturer while studying at Korea University Graduate School, and congratulations are due to Dr. Im for his successful doctoral matriculation in February of 2017.
The engineering student body at Seoul National University of Science and Technology numbers over 3,500, and Dr. Jiyeol Im is one of over 400 professors (including lecturers) who nurture the next generation of technological experts. And Dr. Im is researching economical and eco-friendly biological wastewater treatment processes and the management of the non-point pollution scene. Though he is a recently made doctor, Dr. Im has already accrued substantial recognitions in his field. He is a member of the Korean Society of Water Quality, the Korean Society of Hazard Mitigation, and the Korean Wetland Society.
