Dr. Jae Kyung Jo Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Medical Research

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, December 17, 2019, Dr. Jae Kyung Jo has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. A disciplined medical professional, Dr. Jae Kyung Jo currently excels as the head researcher and the clinic director at the Chungku Kyunghee Korean Medicine Clinic. Previously, he gained valuable expertise as the clinic physician and educational instructor of the Korean Medicine Department at Jamsil Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine and as a clinic physician with Leadheal Hospital. Through these positions, he has utilized acupuncture to treat patients with spinal and joint symptoms, as well as those with cerebrovascular and degenerative diseases including cancer and Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, Dr. Jo has collaborated with other medical professionals to integrate Western and Korean medicine into the same practice.

During the 2010s, Dr. Jae Kyung Jo worked in several head research and directorial roles for the Association of Integrative Korean Medicine, the Korea Health Promotion Institute, Hamchun Kyunghee Vista Clinic and the Seoul Korean Medicine Association. Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Dr. Jo earned a Bachelor of Science in geosystem science from Seoul National University in 2001 and a Bachelor of Korean Medicine from Kyung Hee University in 2005. He subsequently returned to Kyung Hee University, obtaining a Master of Korean Medicine in 2013 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Korean Medicine in 2016. A diplomate of Oriental medicine, Dr. Jo is also licensed as a Medical Doctor of Korean Medicine through the Ministry of Health and Welfare in South Korea.

Dr. Jo retains his professional alignment with the Seoul Korean Medicine Association, the Association of Integrative Korean Medicine, the Society of Korean Medicine for Obesity Research, the Korean Pharmacopuncture Institute and the Korean Society of Chuna Manual Medicine for Spine and Nerves in order to remain aware of changes in his field. He has also conducted lectures, such as “Project evaluation and sharing excellent cases” through the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health & Welfare, and contributed to several articles in professional journals, including “The relationship between Yangsaeng and general health status: Based on 2008-2010 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey” and “Induction of caspase-dependent extrinsic apoptosis by apigenin through inhibition of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling in HER2-overexpressing BT-474 breast cancer cells.” Dr. Jo’s vast knowledge has also allowed him to contribute to books and periodicals such as “Changing aspects of health promotion in Korean Medicine: The Past, Present and Future”.
