An expert in cardiology, Dr. Chong-Jin Kim serves as a physician and professor with Kyung Hee University. As a respected voice in the medical community, he maintains involvement with a wide range of medical organizations, including the Korean Medical Association, the Korean Society of Internal Medicine, the Korean Society of Circulation, the Korean Society of Echocardiography, and the Korean Society of Lipidology. In addition, he is a member of the American Heart Association, the European Society of Cardiology, and the International Society of Hypertension. In preparation of his career as a distinguished medical scientist, Dr. Chong-Jin Kim attended Kyung Hee University, where he received an MD in 1980 and master’s degree in the study of preventative medicine in 1987, also completing an internship with the school’s medical center. He then completed a fellowship in cardiology and a residency in medicine with the Catholic University of Korea St. Paul’s Hospital from 1988 to 1990, earning a PhD in cardiology with the school in 1993. Dr. Kim is certified in cardiology by the Korean Board of Internal Medicine.
A widely regarded educator, Dr. Chong-Jin Kim has held a variety of academic appointments since 1990. Early in his career, he was recognized as a full-time instructor in cardiology with the Catholic University of Korea. During the next 20 years, he rose through the ranks as an assistant professor in cardiology, an associate professor in cardiology, and a professor in cardiology. Dr. Kim has served as a physician and professor of cardiology with Kyung Hee University since 2006, in addition to being recognized as the chair of the Cardiovascular Center, director of the Catheterization Lab, director of the International Health Care Center, and chair of the Committee of International Collaboration.
