ByungMoo Park Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Law

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, October 12, 2021, ByungMoo Park has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Upon earning a Bachelor of Laws from Seoul National University in 1984, Mr. Park went on to receive a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Yonsei University while serving as an officer of the Judge Advocate General of the Republic of Korea Navy, where he served between 1986 and 1989. Subsequently, he joined Kim & Chang Law Office as an attorney, where he represented major hostile takeover cases, including Midopa, Hanwha Banking Corporation and OB Brewery. During his time with Kim & Chang, he also completed a Master of Laws through Harvard Law School in 1995 and served as partner through 2000.

Throughout his career, Mr. Park gained valuable expertise in the field of law and business as chief executive officer and representative director of Plenus Entertainment, Inc., where he helped grow the company’s market capitalization from $20 million to $250 million; managing director of Newbridge Capital (now TPG Asia); and chief executive officer and representative director for Hanaro Telecom. Drawing upon his considerable expertise, he excels today as managing partner for Vogo Fund (now VIG Partners), through which he maintains responsibility for the investment management of four different blind funds.

To remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Park aligns himself with the Korea Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. Due to his outstanding body of work, he received the Best M&A  through Korean Newspaper Magazine, the Best M&A in Asia Award through AVCJ and the Supreme Justice Award through the College of Law at Seoul National University.

Among his many achievements, Mr. Park is most proud of increasing the market capitalization of the companies he has managed, becoming chief executive officer of a technological company, and helping develop the first IPTV internet-based television service in Korea through Hanaro Telecom. In the coming years, Mr. Park intends to expand VIG Partners’ investment growth.
