Mr. Ham is an electrical engineer celebrating more than three decades of expertise in large-scale applications and project engineering. After completing his service to the Army of the Republic of Korea, he enrolled at Hanyang University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1986, and a Master of Science in electrical engineering in 1992. Demonstrating the highest level of professional accomplishment, Mr. Ham holds licensed professional engineer credentials in both South Korea and the state of Missouri, USA.
In 1986, Mr. Ham began his career with the Korea Power Engineering Company. Initially excelling as an application engineer, he would rise to become the electrical group supervisor over his 15-year tenure, modeling not only outstanding technical abilities, but an innate talent for leadership. Departing the company in 2001, he relocated to the United States to pursue an opportunity with Burns & McDonnell, a multi-sector engineering, consulting and construction firm. Beginning as a senior electrical engineer, Mr. Ham has served in several capacities throughout nearly two decades with the company, including project management roles and his current position as an associate electrical engineer.
Mr. Ham’s portfolio includes work on coal-fired and combined-cycle power plant design and standardization, digital relay and electrical digital networking applications, and the concept design for an electrical control and monitoring digital system. He has been recognized for his design innovation with three awards from POWER Magazine. His Yeung Heung 800MW units were selected as the publication’s 2005 Top Plant, his Iatan 850MW unit would win 2011 Plant of the Year, and his work on the Dominion Warren County Power Station was named as the 2015 Project of the Year. As an advocate for the advancement of his profession, Mr. Ham is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading and devoting his time to personal research, as well as world travel.
Mr. Ham is happily married to Suk Yun with two children. His daughter Cindy is a lawyer in Cahill G&R LLP and his son Jun-Sik is a mechanical engineer for Apple. Mr. Ham has consistently been named to every edition of Who’s Who in America since 2012 and has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
