GYEONGGI-DO, SOUTH KOREA, October 29, 2019, Dr. Dongwook Kim has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. After serving in the Republic of Korea Army from 2002 until 2004, Dr. Dongwook Kim began working as a research assistant with Chung-Ang University. Subsequently, he gained valuable experience in the field as the assistant manager of the structural division at Chungsuk Engineering Company from 2009 until 2011. Dr. Kim later excelled as a research teaching assistant at Chung-Ang University before obtaining his current role of a bridge engineering team manager at Daelim Industrial Company.
Throughout his career thus far, Dr. Dongwook Kim has participated in ICE Building Information Modeling for Infrastructure and authored a number of works, including “Ex-BIM Guidelines,” “Technical Report of Composite Connection,” “Building Information Modeling Using Microstation” and “Civil BIM Based on Microstation.” Additionally, he co-patented “Modular Pier Bracing Apparatus for Improving Earthquake-Proof Function” and “Tower Structure, Constructing Method of Such Tower Structure and Precast Member Having Inner Band for Such Tower Structure.” Moreover, Dr. Kim conducted research in the empirical equation of ultimate shear strength of shear connection.
An expert in his field, Dr. Kim notably earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in civil and environmental engineering from Chung-Ang University, from which he would graduate with a Doctor of Philosophy in civil engineering in 2015. Over the years, he also became certified in building information modeling authoring tools, building information modeling management, two-grade Chinese characters and civil engineering. He retains his professional alignment with the Korean Institute of Building Information Modeling, the Korean Society of Civil Engineers, the Korean Concrete Institute and the Korean Society of Steel Construction. For his outstanding achievements, Science in civil and environmental engineering received the Academic Excellence Award from the Korean Institute of Building Information Modeling in 2013 and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
