Backed by many years of professional excellence, Dr. Hyun Kyu Suh has served as a professor in the division of mechanical and automotive engineering at Kongju National University since 2012. Earlier in his career, he had found success as a compression ignition engine developer for the Korean Automotive Technology Institute. Over the years, Dr. Suh has conducted research on single fuel droplet combustion, the reduction of combustion chemical reaction mechanisms, the optimization of CI engine combustion with reduction of exhaust emission, and laser diagnostics in thermal fluid engineering and spray systems in automotive engineering.
Prior to embarking upon his professional path, Dr. Hyun Kyu Suh initially pursued an education at Youngnam University, earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He continued his studies with a Master of Mechanical Engineering in thermal engineering at Hanyang University. Dr. Suh later concluded his academic efforts at Hanyang University, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in thermal engineering.
Subsequently, Dr. Suh completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the International Space Station through the University of Connecticut. Although his career is still on the rise, he has already contributed his accrued expertise to articles in professional journals, including “Droplet Combustion Experiments Aboard the International Space Station,” which was written alongside such scholars as Daniel Dietrich, Vedha Nayagam and Michael C. Hicks. Looking toward the future, Dr. Suh intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career and research.
